My Image of Georgia

is that of a country in transition from the wars and upheavals of recent history to a fully digitized society driven by young global thinkers who act swiftly and have clear goals in mind. Never before did networking happen for me as fast as in Georgia: Facebook, Messenger, mobile number, and an immediate appointment. This book presents Georgia as a country with a high level of education, professionalism, emotion and musicality, digitalization backed by a stable legal system and security, and based on a society firmly rooted in Christianity, strong family relations and friendship traditions.

Prof. Dr. Hans-Günter Lindner
Georgia is an emerging nation with steady growth, hospitable people, breathtaking landscapes and a unique history. In addition to  Georgian tolerance and the values of religion, family, language, infrastructure, art, education and law, high qualifications and low wages are a great opportunity for outsourcing.
Together with the Georgian photographer Zurab Tsertsvadze, Hans-Günter Lindner takes the reader on an expedition through a modern society with a western character, starting with the values, with stops at modern companies, and leads them into a blizzard which both only narrowly escape.

The Challenge

In mid-2017, Nino Nasidze and I conducted the first interviews for "Opportunities for Outsourcing in Georgia." The German Business Association (DWV) in Tbilisi was enthusiastic about the idea of a book about the "Values of Georgia" and we learned that Georgia will be the guest of honor at the 2018 Frankfurt Book Fair. Now the time pressure was incredible. Ultimately, this resulted in a project that was to become a new kind of reference book: a high-quality illustrated book with a new theory of values and solid content. The book conveys current knowledge and is enjoyable to read. Aside from pictures and narratives, even the language itself yields a pattern of values. That is why the book is written in three languages: German, English and Georgian—a novelty. The team of more than 20 people shared the vision of a new representation of values exemplified by Georgia. This generated a motivation to complete the trilingual work in less than a year.
